Our Santa Visit and a Trip to Tanglewood

Justin took last Friday off, so we thought that would be a good time to go visit Santa.  We were both surprised by how well the kids sat on Santa's lap.  Lily hopped right up and told Santa what she wanted for Christmas...a new baby doll and a bike with training wheels.  She also told him what she thought Harrison might like...new cars and trucks.  Harrison was hesitant to hop up at first, but Santa offered him a small train to hold, and he happily settled into his lap.  Harrison looks a little less  happy here because Santa took the train away for pictures.  No tears, though.  When we ask Harrison what Santa says, he scrunches up his face and very deliberately responds: "Ho, Ho, Ho."

We were hopeful that we could sneak in a trip to Tanglewood on Monday evening to see the lights without a long wait.  We did end up having to wait about 30-40 minutes before we entered the gates, but the kids were ok because we thought to bring our DVDs and snacks.  Why was everyone else out on a Monday night?

Each year we look forward to going to Tanglewood, and I love that we have this tradition with our family.  Lily and Harrison both had a great time. They enjoyed the lights, and were very happy to be allowed out of their seats.  After we got home, we asked what they remembered seeing.  Harrison answered: "train, water, and cow."  Great memory because we saw all three, and he was excited by each.  Lily also loved the train, the many reindeer, Santa, and the candles.

Here are our happy riders.

And though this has nothing to do with Christmas,  I just had to add this one.  Justin often tries to get a little work done on the couch.  Here, both kids thought they needed to work too.
