Standing by our tree.
I know it's a little hard to see in the pictures below, but Lily found a tree branch and Harrison found a piece of string. They had no interest in picking out a tree after finding these treasures, and were sad to leave them behind.
Both kids were excited to play with our manger scene.
Decorating the tree.
Lucky for us, Harrison's attention for decorating was very brief. He is a bit rougher with the ornaments than Lily ever was.
Here is one of Lily's branches. I think she had 6 ornaments in a straight line on a single branch.
On a nice 70 degree December morning, we headed to church to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
Waiting for other guests to arrive.
Listening to the story of Jesus' birth with several friends.
There were several centers set up. Here, the kids put stickers on a manger scene.
Next, we wrote letters to Jesus about what we are thankful for, and also made our own project to take home. Harrison attempted to color for a minute or two. Lily was very happy to color until it was time for cake.
Lily was not the least bit interested in dressing up like a wise man, Mary, or Joseph, but she definitely had to lay baby Jesus in the manger.
Waiting to enter Disney on Ice.
We arrived really early. Luckily, we could snack on cotton candy while waiting for the show to begin. And, we were able to say no to buying overpriced toys about 100 times as the nice gentleman made their way over to our seats every minute or two. The cotton candy came with Mickey ears, but she didn't want those (until we got home and Harrison liked them, of course).
As you can see we were very busy this week. In the coming week we hope to see Santa and make a trip to the Tanglewood Festival of Lights.
