Evelyn at 10 Months

Evelyn loves playing ball.

She turned 10 months old on Mother's Day.

Sweet sisters.

Two of her favorite past times include taking things out of cabinets, and pulling books off of her bookshelf.

And on another day...

She loved her new sunglasses for about 2 seconds.  At least I got a great picture.

She never falls asleep on us anymore, so we had to get a sweet sleeping baby picture.

We visited Melissa's in-laws in Lillington for a little post-wedding celebration with Jamie's extended family members that were unable to attend their wedding in Charleston.  Well, our kids now want to live on this farm and are ready to go back.  Evelyn had so much fun meeting other little babies, and watching us ride the four wheeler.  She wanted so badly to take a ride.

The next day we went to the pool.  This was Evelyn's first time in, and it took her a few minutes to get used to it.  The water was a bit cold, so I think that was why she was upset.  The next time we went to the pool the water was even colder, but she did enjoy sitting in the wading section, splashing and crawling around.

Evelyn loves Lily and Harrison, and is always happy to see what they are up to, and to play in the playroom or in their bedrooms with them.  She is definitely enthralled with Harrison's cars and Lily's Lego sets.  We have to keep a close eye on her, though she is pretty good about NOT putting little things in her mouth.

Happily for me, she is capable of playing pretty contentedly by herself for awhile.  On the other hand, she is often found clutching my leg and crying to be picked up, or crying to sit at the table with us, or crying to go outside, or crying to reach the thermostat or clock, or crying for the remote.  She keeps us on our toes, and wants what she wants when she wants it, but I can totally relate!

She is SO close to walking.  She's taken a few unassisted steps, but when she realizes what she is doing, immediately drops down and starts crawling.  Evelyn is also eager to talk.  She signs "more" when she is eating or if she is reading a book.  She has said, "eat" when she is hungry, "bath" and crawled into the bathroom, "da-dee" (for Justin), "touch" (when she wants and finally gets to hold something), and sometimes, if she is really upset, I might hear a "mama" thrown in to really twist those heart strings (like when she doesn't want to be put down for a nap or bedtime).  She's one smart cookie.  We love her so much!
