Happy Birthday, Harrison!

Rise and shine, birthday boy!

He's trying to figure out how to hold up two fingers.

Harrison woke up very happy and gave a huge grin when I reminded him that today was his birthday.  He started saying, "jumpy house, jumpy house" because he knows we're having his birthday party at Jump N Fun.  Then he moved on to talking about cupcakes and presents.  This kid definitely knows what a birthday is all about!

We wanted to take the kids out for doughnuts this morning as a special birthday treat.  However, the shop we wanted to go to was closed, so we opted to go across the street for some treats at Starbucks.  Justin and I were disappointed, but the kids were happy.  Actually, our trip was cut short, and Justin didn't even get to stay.  As we were placing our order, we got a call from CPI Security and calls from my parents informing us that our alarm was going off and that the police were called to respond.  Justin left immediately and I let the kids eat before we went back home.  It seems Harrison's birthday balloons floated over to one of the sensors and set off the alarm.  From now on, when we are out of the house our balloons will need to stay tied to a chair.  This was not the fun birthday morning we had planned.  Oh well!  Sorry, buddy.

Harrison loves cars, so I made a small car cake for our family dinner tonight.  I think he likes it, because he keeps asking to see it.  Both kids have already picked out the car that they want to eat.

Here are some pictures from our family party.

Lily was so happy to give him the card she made.

Harrison exclaimed, "A football...my favorite!"

A little frustrated that he couldn't get the paper open.  Lily to the rescue.

More cars!  He was happy to get two more convertibles in the pack.  He loves those.

So excited!

He wasn't quite sure how to blow out the candles.  He almost got it, but needed a little help.

First, eating the cars.

Then, eating the cake.  Again my kids love to stay clean.  He wanted to use the fork and asked me to wipe his hands whenever he got a little frosting on them.

Happy Birthday, Harrison.  We love you!
