Lily was a little shy of Jim and Karen at first, but she warmed up quickly. She first told us that Uncle Jim was a GIANT because he was so tall. However, she learned to use his height to her advantage, especially when she talked him into lifting her up to see the cup full of candy corns on the counter. Being the kind uncle that he is, he managed to offer her several candy corns throughout the day. And Aunt Karen brought Lily a doll, a purse, and a few dress up items that Lily joyfully put on for the family. We don't get to see Aunt Karen and Uncle Jim very often, so we were so glad that they decided to visit North Carolina and take a side trip to see us. You all are welcome back anytime!
Lily and Harrison both enjoyed some fun with Uncle Jeff, and of course, Grammy and Granddad. I think Lily believes that Granddad is her personal pusher on the swingset and the two stayed outside for quite awhile each day. Harrison also enjoyed time on the swings.
Here are a few pictures of the Klingman/Bartholomew family enjoying each others company, eating (of course), and playing The Fishing Game. I don't think any visitors ever leave our house without being introduced to The Fishing Game. Lily considers it a MUST for any social gathering.
Sunday afternoon we celebrated Halloween with our friends. All of the kids were so adorable. It gets crazier every year, but it's one of our favorite playgroup activities. Both kids and parents have a great time! After getting out every toy, attempting a few group pictures, and eating pumpkin cookies and other treats, the kids got to run off more energy outside. This year, Lily kept asking when the party would start--even after all of her friends were present and playing. I realized she meant--when do we eat? A party isn't a party until we've all had cookies!
A knight in shining armor was our first guest to arrive.
Grammy with her two little trick-or-treaters.
Lily loved the megaphone (a prop from Cole's costume), and led the group in a rousing rendition of The Wheels on the Bus.
Our two youngest guests.
Attempts at a group photo of Minnie Mouse, a fireman, a butterfly, a fairy, a knight, a butterfly catcher, a pirate, and Tigger.
Time for treats.
Enjoying some time outside.
Thanks to all of our family and friends who helped us make more happy memories this weekend!
