We've Moved!

I wrote this post a few weeks ago, but finally got around to adding pictures.

Our new house.

After a LOT of talking and praying and wondering and excitement and stress filled days, we finally made our big move from Greensboro to Holly Springs three weeks ago.  Justin's 3 hr/day commute has ended.  Hurray! We are settling in a bit more, and even hosted our first visitors this weekend.  Lily is adjusting to her new school, and after two weeks finally admitted that she is beginning to like it even though she doesn't feel "put in" yet, as she described it to me last night while coloring together.  She does come home from school excited to share events from the day.  Getting up later in the morning doesn't hurt either.  She's not much of a morning person.  She's made friends with many of the girls and even tells us she has a boyfriend...because she talked to him and he is very funny!  Harrison is doing well too. I can't believe I registered him for preschool last week.  He doesn't start until the Fall, but he is excited about going to his own school.  I took him to a story time last week at the club house and we met a few other young boys around 2-4 yrs. old.  After reading, we all headed out to the playground to play.  He seemed happy to at least play around other kids.

It definitely took a village to get us through this move.  We offer our heartfelt thanks to all who helped us in various ways.  We are blessed!  Thank you to those who watched the kids for us so we could pack, and had us over for playdates when our toys were packed up.  Thank you to those who offered us storage and boxes.  Thank you to those of you who had us over for dinner, and housed us when we were homeless for a few days.  We really are thankful to all of our friends and family members who offered support throughout this wild and crazy time!

Our stay at the Thackers before our move.  Cartoons...our only quiet time with 5 happy friends.

Here are pictures from our first few weeks in Holly Springs.

Our first night (in the hotel) we celebrated our move with ice cream.

After closing on our house, I took the kids to Chick-fil-a, and some firefighters let the kids sit in the truck.  Two very excited kiddos!

After lunch we went to Holly Grove ES to register Lily.  As you can tell by the picture, she was not quite her happy self worrying about this new school.

Lily's first day at school.

We spent Easter Sunday with my Mom and David.

We spent a fun family afternoon at Marbles, a children's museum in Raleigh.

We were so happy to have the Henson's visit us for a sleepover.  Many tears were shed after the weekend came to an end.  Lily and Eliza were on cloud nine to be together again.  Harrison was excited to have Jacob sleep in his room.

Harrison used the potty!  He was very proud and happy to get an M&M.  We sent this picture to Daddy to share the good news.

Our new furniture finally arrived.

I went to a Mother's Day Tea held by Lily's Kindergarten class.

We are enjoying our back deck.

We are getting creative with some of our moving boxes.  The kids decorated a house and garage to play in the other day.

And we had our first pool day!  The kids had a blast.

We are not too far away, so please come visit us anytime!  All are welcome!
