Christmas in Virginia

After Christmas, we drove to Virginia to spend the weekend with Grammy and Granddad.  The kids were very well behaved in the car, which made it much easier to travel.  However, we counted 5 stops for what should be a five hour drive, so it does take us quite a bit longer to arrive at our destination than it should.  Oh well, that's life with little ones.

The kids were once again eager to find new toys and open gifts.

Harrison and Lily both got right to work vacuuming with their new Dyson.

Thanks for the purse and stamps Uncle Jeff and Aunt Veronica!

On Saturday, our friends Torry and John, and their two girls came over to visit for awhile in the morning.  Unfortunately, the visit was a bit chaotic (in a good way), and we forgot to get any pictures together.   Saturday night, we drove through a light festival near the Klingman's house.  It is similar to Tanglewood, and the kids enjoyed another trip to see Christmas lights.

The weekend finally concluded all of our Christmas festivities.  Last night, Lily, Harrison, and I had dinner with good friends, while Justin took time to visit two friends from college.  As a special treat, I let Lily stay up later, and together we had popcorn and watched the first hour of Mary Poppins for a girl's movie night.  She was in bed by 9:30; I was in bed by 11pm.  It was nice to have a very relaxing start to the New Year.

Happy New Year, Everyone!  Happy New Year, Lily and Harrison! You are blessed to have so many people who love and care about you.
