This weekend we welcomed Justin’s parents and brother Jeff, and his girlfriend Veronica for a visit. This was Jeff and Veronica’s first time meeting Harrison and we’re so glad they were able to join us for his baptism. On Sunday morning we all drove to Martinsville and met my parents at church for the service. I’ve attended this church ever since I was little (maybe 1st grade or so) and it is always special to come back to visit. The minister at First United Methodist married us in 2006, baptized Lily in 2009, and was able to baptize Harrison too. Pastor Ron retires in June, so we were thrilled to be able to have him celebrate with our family one more time.

Harrison and Lily were very good during the service, but the one thing we didn’t expect was that the first time the organ played they both started to cry. After that, Lily was still a little fearful when the music started and Harrison would tear up and quickly find his thumb for comfort. Poor little guy. After church our families went out for lunch. We had a room to ourselves so Lily was able to run around freely during the meal. I think both Lily and Harrison were exhausted from the day, and the weekend in general, because both kids were in bed by 8pm that night and Lily didn’t wake until 7:30 and I had to wake Harrison a little before 8am to eat. He slept 12 straight hours! Here are a few more pictures from church and at home later that afternoon.
