Happy 1st Birthday Evelyn Claire!

Party Day!

Our little sunshine is one!  We celebrated with a "You Are My Sunshine" birthday theme with a little water fun in the sun.  But, I'm pretty sure Evelyn's happiest moments were devouring her smash cake.  She cried when I took it away! We are thankful for the family and friends who were able to join our celebration, and we missed those that were unable to attend, though we know you were there in spirit and Skype!

After cake and snacks, the kids headed outside to play.  We had a water table and kiddie pool for the younger kids, and water squirters and slip n slide for the older ones.  We put some dish soap on the slip n slide and the kids took off.

She fell and got soaked.

The first highlight of the day was when the balloons arrived before the party!  She was squealing with excitement!  It was pretty adorable.

We were so excited that our sweet friends, Dani and Julia (and their mom) could come for the day.  These two were great helpers, and gave Evelyn plenty of extra special attention.

We were also happy that Jamie's mom, Cindy, was able to celebrate with us.

Evelyn, you are a joy and a delight to our family.  We have so much fun together.  You have a big personality so I know God has great plans for you. You are strong-willed (in a good way--reminding me of your namesake), full of energy, too busy to nap for long, excited to play, so very smart, sweet as can be, and ready for whatever the day brings. We love you, Sunshine!
