Lily participated in a Fun Run with her classmates in grades K-2 out on the track. She surprised us by running four long laps in the heat without appearing tired. The Fun Run raised money for the school, but was also an activity to promote health and fitness. Parents were encouraged to run, but Harrison didn't want to, so we hung back and watched. Way to run Lily!
The kids warmed up with a few exercises first.
A little wave to the crowd.

Then we hosted our friends John and Torry, and their kids Alex and Juliet. The big girls are best friends already, and Lily calls them her cousins. John and Justin headed to the VT/UNC game in Chapel Hill, so Torry and I had plenty of time to catch up while we watched the kiddos. Justin took a few pictures of the kids walking to the pond one morning.
Aunt Melissa came to visit this weekend. We didn't get to see the family as much as we'd have liked due to Lily and Harrison not feeling well. However, Lily was thrilled that Aunt Melissa could meet her for lunch at school on Tuesday and then visit the Book Fair together.
The kids were so tired of staying inside throughout the weekend that we did take pity on them and made a quick visit to the Farmer's Market to pick out a few pumpkins. The kids had fun playing in a pumpkin house before and after we shopped for pumpkins.
