Harrison is one-month old today! He is such a joy to us and is such a good baby. He’s had a few tummy issues over the past couple of days, but otherwise he is very content and happy. He’s even shown us a few precious smiles. He loves sleeping in his bouncy seat and will occasionally take a pacifier. He doesn’t seem to mind tummy time and enjoys looking at books and pictures while laying on his back or stomach on the floor. Lily likes to be right there with him, showing him the pages and kissing his head. They love each other already. Harrison loves to wake up just in time for our dinner, which means one or both of us scarf down our food very quickly. He eats very well and poops very well ( I think he’s quite proud of all of those stinky diapers, and we go through a container of wipes in about 3 days! He is fond of his bath time as well. He makes a few funny faces and then loves to stick his feet in the water. There just doesn’t seem to be much that upsets our little guy. He has taken a couple of bottles from Justin with no problems at all. He actually will sleep longer and doesn’t wake to eat as often if he has a bottle before bed. Last night he did not get a bottle and was up every hour and half to eat. Tonight I am definitely giving him a bottle so I can get a little more sleep! He still has his days and nights confused, but we’re hoping that will come to an end soon. We’d like to see more of his alert and bright blue eyes during the day.
Lily has adjusted quite well to life with a little brother. Her first thought in the morning and last thoughts before she goes to bed are of him. She asks where he is if she doesn’t see him and prays for him every night. At music class today she proudly pointed to him and introduced him to the group. She loves to help out in any way. She’s a pro burp cloth finder and pacifier retriever! If he cries, she tells us that we better go check on him. She pats his head and kisses his cheek and always asks to see him.
We’ve certainly been blessed with two sweet and beautiful children. Here’s hoping for another great month. Below are some pictures from our first month with Harrison. Enjoy!
