Happy Easter 2011

Our family enjoyed a wonderful Easter weekend together. On Saturday we introduced Lily to the art of egg decorating. She really liked painting her egg with a paint brush and attentively watched one egg as it was dipped in the dye. Then, she completely lost interest and Justin and I had to finish the task. Good thing I suspected this and only hard-boiled six eggs. Maybe next year she will show more enthusiasm for this activity.

On Sunday morning, we drove to Grandma and Pop's house. We went to church together and then had a delicious lunch. Lily enjoyed chasing my mom's new cat around the house and also got to open more treats from her Easter basket from Grandma. We topped off the afternoon with a mini Easter egg hunt in our front yard. Lily squealed with delight as she found each egg.

Every holiday we celebrate together as a family is a blessing, and our enjoyment grows as Lily's excitement and understanding develops. Next year we will tell Lily more about the true meaning of Easter. My heart just melts when Lily says, "read Bible." I know she doesn't understand the difference between the Bible and her other books yet, but I certainly pray that she will always want to learn more about Jesus and the sacrifice He made for us.
